Summary

The thesis examines the theory of motivation in view of the theory of needs which are connected with human behavior in many spheres of life including social and cultural spheres. It analyzes the following phenomena: motivation and stimulation of job performance with respect to managerial acquirements and skills; fair-mindedness, system of values and the problem of employees’ evaluation; motivation program resources, their realization and differentiation; recent findings which are applied to modern management.

Motivation of our behavior has always been a part of human experience. Whether our motivation concerns satisfying basic needs of our life or the most idealistic concepts and aims, it always becomes the first impulse leading to particular behavior and serves as one of the most important factors in the development of the human race. It is an indispensable aspect of any kind of human activity and thereby it influences our objectives, and the processes of their achievement as well. The motivation itself is influenced and suggested by the long history and development of our society, and that is why it is simultaneously developing and changing together with the spheres of human activities and their opinions. Most of the changes are happening in the spheres of work motivation, modern management, and creating and using human abilities and resources. If people are motivated well enough, they will work better than if we do not motivate them at all. The issues of stimuli in the spheres of working efficiency, work motivation and its enjoyment is so interesting that my intention was to get closer to it and get as much knowledge as possible for my future job.

I suppose that the potential of these issues does not have any limits in the future and it will always be liable to new trends in the development of the world, science and human abilities. Existing theory and practice is very complicated but at the same time enables us to examine new attitudes and reactions of people who are increasingly becoming more and more active participants of our world, which is filling up with new information and communication technologies. Proper motivation guarantees mutual satisfaction on behalf of who motivates and who is motivated; and this is the reason why I have chosen this topic for my thesis in order to research the development of management in the 21st century.
